Last week I attended the Boomer Business Summit,
giving a presentation on social media and participating on a panel
called “Extending Your Reach with New Media.” (Yes, there was a lot of
interest in Twitter and LinkedIn, among other social media sites.

While the Summit wasn’t purely about marketing to boomers, it was a definite focus. And marketers love statistics. Here are a few top-line boomer-related stats:
There are roughly 78 million boomers in the US (about 28% of the US population)
- Boomers as a whole have about $2 trillion in spending power
- As boomers age, the number of Americans age 65 and older is set to double by 2030
- Over 90% of boomers use email
- Boomers make up about 35% of the Internet population
